Keppel bay!

Eggs benedict <3

Eggs royale!

Lemon meringue tart!

Red velvet cake!

went to prive @ keppel bay for lunch on monday afternoon
good thing yy drove us in if not we will have to walk all the way there under the hot sun
think it is at least a 15-20mins walk from harbourfront mrt
have been hearing good reviews about this cafe and wanted to try since dont know when
there wasnt any queue that day and we got our indoor seats without having to wait at all
didnt want to sit outdoors because the sun is shining so brightly :/

ordered eggs benedict: traditional English muffins topped with smoked leg ham, streaky bacon,
gently poached eggs & creamy Hollandaise sauce ($16)
and i think it is one of the nicest eggs benny i have eaten
unlike other cafes like group therapy etc, they used muffins to go along with the poached eggs which is a really matching combination
would definitely recommend it and I wanna go back there to try other brunch items!
yy ordered eggs royale but the difference is just the ham and bacon being replaced with smoked norwegian salmon

called for lemon meringue tart and red velvet cake to share ($7 each)
thinking that there was a 50% discount from 3pm-6pm on weekdays
but didnt know we have to order coffee/tea to go along before enjoying the discount

the lemon meringue tart is really worth the money although i didnt eat it before and cant make any comparisons
wanted to try it at carpenters and cook the previous time but the whole cafe was packed with people
as for the red velvet cake, i would think its just normal (still prefer the red velvet cupcake at twelve cupcakes)

conclusion: it was a great monday later afternoon lunch and im really awed by their food (it would be great if the place is more convenient)

bought a cup of matcha soy milk from ama soy at nex
think they are somewhat affiliated to MOF
coz after the person took our orders she went to prepare the drink in MOF
wasnt exactly fascinated about the drink
it tastes like any other matcha drink i can buy from other places
dont know why others seem to be so amazed by the drink
ok maybe because i didnt add any toppings
although i doubt it will make any drastic difference
shall try their soy puddings next time

went to danro japanese hotpot buffet lunch (by MOF) last fri
it was quite cheap for a buffet lunch: $17.90++ and there is 10% off for MOF card members
we called for nara (chicken and milk broth) and nagoya soup base (chicken miso broth)
but the soup wasnt fantastic (i prefer the collagen soup base at bijin nabe)
the food selection for lunch is also quite limited :/
things like prawns and their famous hand-made kiritanpo are only available for dinner
they had this DIY ice cream making corner too for dessert
DIY-ing ice cream is fun but the ice cream quality is not good -shakes head-
i think even mcdonalds ice cream is erm nicer than theirs ><
left it aside to melt after eating like two or three mouthfuls
overall i was a bit disappointed by the steamboat buffet and doubt i will go back again

went to west mall to buy sogurt before work last thurs
gotten myself lychee flavour and grape flavour yogurt
and oreo bits + marshmallow as toppings :)
paid $5.95 in total although i forgot how much does it weigh
and good thing about sogurt: watsons card got 15% discount!

went to strangers reunion for dinner with secondary school friends to celebrate nj's birthday
its one of the cafes which are opened on monday (cafes like symmetry etc are all closed)
will have to try them some other day

stranger reunion is located near outram park (around 10mins walk after we came out from purple line exit)
had an awesome dinner there because the food served was fabulous
although the all day breakfast ended at 5pm and its a pity we didnt get to eat the brunch sets
the four of us ordered two mains and two sides to share because we have to save some stomach for the birthday cake
the waffles, truffle fries, lotus root chips and the braised lamb rump were really up to expectations
and im quite sure i will go back there again to try their brunch :)

on a sidenote, strangers reunion doesn't allow us to eat the birthday cake in the cafe
and they refuse to help me store the birthday cake (reason: the fridge is full -.-)

the menu at strangers reunion!

truffle fries!

braised lamb rump!

wrapping the lamb!

waffles with strawberry maceration and vanilla ice cream!

lotus root chips!

finally tried the waffle at tom's palette (after like so long O.O)
and we got the waffle cum ice cream set at only $5
promotion: free ice cream scoop with every waffle purchased for weekdays 3-5pm
we get to choose if we want maple syrup or choc syrup to go along with the waffle too
gotten myself maple syrup and apple pie ice cream to go along with the waffle
the waffle was quite nice and soft but became a bit nuaaa at the end
because i took my own sweet time to eat :/
apple pie is still one of my favourite flavours (:
can really see the apple bits in the ice cream

went to seoul yummy at bugis+ for lunch
ordered the lunch set: bibimbap (beef) and it costs only $9.90++
good thing about weekday lunch deal because everything is so cheap
and the set came along with a cup of wheat drink although the menu say its barley
the bibimbap is quite nice although i dont usually eat bibimbap
so not much of a comparison actually:/

ordered a spicy rice cake to share too (costs only $3.99 to add on a side dish during lunchtime)
but its quite spicy since my tolerance level for spiciness is like preschool level only :/
